Starting from the cultural history of Limehouse Chinatown, the team members used the collaborative method of content analysis to summarize the historical evolution of Chinatown, trying to explore the intersection and transformation of culture in this space, as well as people's misunderstanding and stereotypes of culture.
The output of this project is a digital human and a digital scene. A dance was designed for the digital human using motion capture technology and presented in the digital scene. It attempts to use body language to explore the locality and sense of place of culture under the conditions of crossing historical backgrounds, and uses digital scenes to criticize how texts and images construct the environment of a place, thereby affecting the phenomenon of public perception. The image design of the digital human reflects how cultural symbols are re-understood and interpreted today.
